![]() | Beard Day began on a cold January morning in the Rose and Thistle in Reading. It was Brillo's birthday and everyone decided that it would be fitting to punctuate this event by wearing beards and going to watch Reading play. What a formative Saturday! Little did we know how huge the global appeal of Beard Day would become... The following year we all did it again and the bearded attendance rose. Every year since, the event has got bigger and better and has now reached cult status. Over the last 10 years Beard Day has attracted friends, colleagues, middle-class businessmen, bus drivers, corner shop owners, pumpkins, musicians, football 'enthusiasts', international travel writers, sheep enimas and the occasional inappropriate owl and wizard (which we've always tried to discourage.) But all good things must come to an end. We would hate for Beard Day to become the James Brown of the social calendar so we've decided to go out in a blaze of glory Now That's What I Call Beard Day 2005, The Final Conflict! Let's raise the roof one last time. Below is a list of Beard Day contributors which is by no means complete. If you don't see your name below and you feel you have significantly contributed to the success of Beard Day, email us and we'll make sure your name appears. Beard Day Contributors
